Elks Current events

I've tried to keep up with elks events, the efforts of which can be seen at http://www.furl.net/members/mikejonea2 Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest. So I'll try posting here and see how it goes. At least here you'll be able to add comments which I hope you'll do. Anyway, there's lots of news on the web that I'll try to capture and save here for future reference.

May 17th Meeting- 8 new elks Initiated

We had a well attended meeting on May 17th and we initiated 8 new members into the Lodge. unfortunately, I (mj) don't know all of there names but the degree team performed the ritual initiation quite impressively and all in attendance appeared to have a great time

The second photo is where the old geezer Elks hang out as the sofa is quite comfy.

The third photo is of John Salonen, our Veteran's affairs chair and another elk whose name also escapes me.

All in all, we seem to be on a membership roll with 23 or so either reinstated, transferred in, initiated or awaiting initiation. That's a great start so early in the Lodge year.

Nazareth ~ more pictures

Nazareth Children's outing August 26, 2006

We were blessed with a good many volunteers as well as most of the kids from the home and their house parents.
Many, many thanks to all the helpers we had for that day. Also, special thanks to Donnie Shoaf for donating $60 for the food and Zach Holshouser for picking up the cost of the worms as well as getting the tackle ready for the kids. Zach has done this for 8 years now and we are blessed to have him as an Elk

Every Lodge Should have a fax

Every lodge that has a phone should also have a fax. Of course, I've been wanting to do this for sometime now and just got around to it when our printer crashed.

Anyhow, instead of paying $64+ tax for ink cartridges needed for a donated printer, I spent $99 + tax for a new Brother combination printer/copier/fax/scanner. While I wish the printer was a little more speedier and I don't really need the copier function, the fax works. Plus we don't need a second line.

Our fax by the way, is the same as the phone obviously which is 704-636-1161

thanks
